报告题目    Approximate energies of the ground lithium by the finite element method

Abstract: This lecture concerns finite element calculations for the lithium atom in the ground state. The system of the lithium atom is governed by a nine-dimensional Schrodinger equation. For the ground lithium, we transfer the equation into a six-dimensional partial differential equation. A six-dimensional variational formulation is also derived from the weak energy equation. A kind of six-dimensional finite element methods are constructed to solve the transferred energy equation. On very coarse mesh, highly precise approximate eigenvalue is obtained. The relative error of approximate eigenvalue is order of 0.00001 .
