报告题目 Inverse Problems in Electromagnetic Fields and Application to Biomedical Imaging and Subsurface Target Detection

Abstract: Electromagnetic waves have widespread applications in imaging and sensing. In this presentation, some recent progress in fast algorithms for solving three-dimensional forward and inverse problems will be discussed. Central to these problems are the fast solvers for 3D volume integral equations arising because of the inhomogeneous targets to be imaged. Three application areas will be demonstrated: (1) electrical impedance tomography (EIT) for biomedical imaging, (2) microwave imaging (MWI) for biomedical imaging, and (3) radar subsurface sensing and imaging of buried targets in multilayered media. Relevant experimental investigations at Duke University will also be described.
