报告摘要：

  First, a brief description of linear convection-diffusion problems and Shishkin meshes will be given. Then the Streamline Diffusion Finite Element Method (SDFEM, also known as SUPG) will be introduced. Since its inception in 1979, this method has been the subject of a huge number of theoretical analyses and numerical investigations. The body of the talk will be an overview of what is known about the method, where both its strengths and weaknesses will be discussed and recent theoretical results will be included.
