On Adaptive Method and Multigrid Method

报告摘要:

  Adaptive finite element methods are proven to be very efficient for singular problems by many works. In this talk, I mainly focus on the residual-based a posteriori error estimates and adaptive algorithm of time-harmonic Maxwell’s equations.
  Multigrid method is a popular method in the solution of discrete systems from FEM and FDM. Its theories are relatively mature on uniform meshes. However the convergence analysis of the local multigrid method (multigrid method on locally refined meshes) are seldom. I will discuss some works on local multigrid methods for elliptic -problems and H(curl)-problems.
