Structure-preserving algorithms for dynamical systems:

    Our research is on structure-preserving algorithms of dynamical systems, a new branch of computational mathematics, involving

    --symplectic methods in numerical computations of Hamiltonian systems;

    --multi-symplectic methods in numerical computations of Hamiltonian partial differential equations;

    --Lie group methods and other structure-preserving numerical methods for dynamical systems;

    --discrete integrable systems and numerical and theoretical solitons.

    We also investigate applications of structure-preserving algorithms of dynamical systems to problems in biology, celestial mechanics, quantum physics and other scientific and engineering fields.
