报告题目: An Introduction to Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Convection
Dominated Problems
Abstract: In this series of 2 hour lectures we will describe the framework of the
finite element DG (discontinuous Galerkin) method for solving convection
dominated PDEs. Such equations include linear and nonlinear hyperbolic
conservation laws, convection dominated convection diffusion equations,
and convection dominated PDEs containing higher derivative terms, such as
KdV type equations and time dependent biharmonic equations. We will cover
the basic ideas of the schemes, available theoretical results,
implementation issues, and numerical results and applications. This
series of lectures are suitable to graduate students or young researchers
in numerical PDEs who would like to know the discontinuous Galerkin
methods.
