Optical solitons in dispersion-managed fiber-optic communication systems

报告摘要：

  In this talk, the governing equations for the propagation of optical solitons in dispersion-managed (DM) optical fiber communication systems will be introduced. Then, a variational method, as well as a symmetrized split-step pseudo-spectral method, will be used for the study of propagation and interactions of DM solitons. It is shown that the results of numerical simulations agree with predictions of the variational method.
