Domain Decompositions with New Kinds of Multilevel Solvers: Solving Schur Complement Systems

报告摘要:

  In this talk we report a recent work on the non-overlapping domain decomposition method. In this method, the interface variable is chosen as Dirichlet boundary data. We first propose a new kind of multilevel decomposition to the finite element space associated with a non-nested triangulation on the interface. Then, we construct the corresponding multilevel preconditioner for solving the Schur complement system arising from the underlying domain decomposition method. The new multilevel pre- conditioner possesses the optimal computational complexity too. It will be shown that the condition number of the preconditioned system grows only as the logarithm of the dimension of the local problem associated with an individual substructure, and is independent of possible jumps of the coefficient in the elliptic equation.
