Abstract:
Consider to the Cauchy problem of the defocusing NLS equation with a nonzero background. With the Dbar generalization of the nonlinear steepest descent method to compute the leading order approximation to the solution of NLS equation in the solitonic space-time region |x/(2t)+1|<1. This result provide a verification of the soliton resolution conjecture and asymptotic stability of N-soliton solutions for NLS equation with finite density type initial data.
